Late May 2023 Bank Holiday, Glossfest and more
This Monday (29th May) will be the late May Bank Holiday.
But before we get to the Bank Holiday Monday itself, there’s a weekend of entertainment across Glossopdale that you can enjoy.
Starting with what some would call the main event is the Town Hall Sessions as part of Glossfest, which will see live music in Norfolk Square on Saturday and Sunday, along with a beer festival, fairground rides, and extras on the market.
The music starts at 1.00pm on Saturday and 12.30pm on Sunday, and if you need a taster as to what to expect, you can view some images of the last Town Halls sessions at http://antmck.uk/-j
Also, on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 6pm and Monday from 10am to 4pm in Hadfield Hall and the Craft Barn is the Hadfield Art Show, which includes the pro loco painting competition on Saturday.
If you have a bit of a thirst running on Saturday (as well as today, Friday) from midday until late is the Glossop North End Beer Festival at the ground on Surry Street.
Also running across the weekend at several venues across both Glossopdale and the rest of Derbyshire is Derbyshire Open Arts; goto https://www.derbyshireopenarts.co.uk for more information.
If you want to head out on Bank Holiday Monday (and the same for Sunday). Buses are running to Sunday times, which means no local buses are running around Gamesley, with the only buses running across Glossopdale being the 237 Glossop to Ashton Under Lyne service, 257 Glossop to Sheffield or Castleton service, and the 61 Glossop to Buxton.
