394 – Last trip on Saturday

This Saturday (30th April), will sadly see the ‘last trip’ – end of journeys by the 394 Glossop to Stepping Hill service on a Saturday.

Since 2013 (following the last time High Peak Buses withdrew the service), the Saturday service has been subsidized by Transport for Greater Manchester / Derbyshire County Council, however following High Peak Buses decision to withdraw the Monday to Friday service earlier this year, the subsidy for the Saturday service has been withdrawn to save / continue (albeit in a reduced fashion) the week day (Monday to Friday) service.

This means that following the end of service on Saturday, there will only be one bus an hour between Gamesley and Glossop on Saturday’s, at 44 minutes past the hour towards Glossop and 5 past the hour back to Gamesley.

If you’re heading out for one last trip tomorrow (Saturday), the 394 runs at 38 minutes past the hour from Glossop (48 from Gamesley) towards Marple and Stepping Hill and 22 minutes past the hour from Gamesley to Glossop.
