Photo and video highlights 2015
Photo and video highlights 2015 : Rather, than just the usual link and gallery of photo’s from the year, this year you also get a few highlights, starting off with a random selection of photos from across the mixed year that 2015 has been:

Although the bits above give you an overview of the world during the year there’s been some particular highlights starting off with the General Election Campaign and a visit by the great Dennis Skinner to kick off our campaign at the Glossop Labour Club:
Although, the result of the general election wasn’t to my liking, I was privileged to be elected as leader of the labour group on High Peak Borough Council, and with the national leadership elections there was a whole host of ‘discussion’ that went on across the summer and I expect for the next few years to come. You can view a few more random ‘political’ highlights at the bottom of the post.
Gamesley Beach
As we moved into summer, Gamesley’s annual meet the neighbours event organised by the great G52, brought a beach to Gamesley’s Winster Mews :
Music
Glossopdale’s own version of ‘Glastonbury’, the Bankswood festival returned at the end of the August, with a range of great music across the Saturday and Sunday
In terms of Bankswood Day 1, there was a range of great music from (amongst others) Sam Lyon, The Tapestry, and Larkins, but one of my own highlights was Rebecca Cullen, who you can view below performing Worthlessly Perfect

For Bankswood Day 2, the range was again great, going from band with famous members like the Plumadores, to great sounds with Rubberbear and I am your autopilot, to amazing acoustics with Rum Baba and Paul Highham. Although slightly harder to pick with the range on day 2, my own highlight was a track from Slipsmith and Twine, called don’t prey on me, which you can see below

Vulcan
Although it sadly marks the end of an era, I was privileged to see the last flight of the Vulcan Bomber with the Red Arrows at the Southport Air Show
Anniversary
This year also saw a number of anniversary celebrations, with a local one, I was pleased to attend the bash for, been the 25th anniversary of the Opening of Robinwood Lodge, where at a slightly younger age I used to do the Sunday papers!
In closing, although from a family perspective the end of the year has been less than grand, the year has had some highlights with me becoming both an uncle and Godfather to Rob and Sara’s Harry, along with the 40th Ruby wedding anniversary of mum and dad. You can see a few pic highlights below.
