1,000,000 Step Challenge
Two years ago today, I was on a side bit of ward 40 in Tameside Hospital recovering from cellulitis, sepsis and my admission gift of COVID.
I only had limited ability to move and wouldn’t start relearning to walk for another few weeks.
As well as getting my various ills curred and relearning to walk before my extended stay in Tameside ended, I discovered I had diabetes.
Diabetes UK (and our neighbour Claire) were a great information source after I escaped.
Earlier this year, I saw details for their summer fundraiser, the 1,000,000-step challenge. There are three versions you can do, and I thought I might be able to do the 500,000-step version over the three months you allowed.
Step forward to today; I’ve completed my 1,000,000 steps this morning!
Thank you to everyone for their kind words and support whilst getting the steps in, and a special thanks to those who have sponsored me.
With everything else at the moment, it’s not the best time to be asking for sponsorship, but if you can, it’s for a great cause, both providing support and researching how to eradicate it – you can click the link below for more details: http://antmck.uk/oms #1000000steps #diabetesuk
