Gamesley Community Bonfire & Fireworks 2016

Gamesley Community Bonfire & Fireworks 2016 ; Thursday evening from 6.30pm onwards, sees this year’s Gamesley Community Bonfire & Fireworks display.

As in previous years the bonfire is taking place across from the car park at the back of the shops on Winster Mews, with the car park making a great grandstand to watch the action from.

In addition to the bonfire and fireworks, there will be stalls and Cafe Jericho is open late.

If you’re about on Thursday morning, the bonfire will be getting built from around 10.30am onwards, and any help that can be given will be much appreciated ! We are also still looking for additional marshals to help on the evening – if you can help, please get in touch.

Also because of the bonfire there will be a road closure in effect from 6.00pm until 9.00pm for the stretch of Melandra Castle Road that passes the back of the shops.

This means that the last journeys on the 394 / 341 will not run around the ring road, only calling at the nearest stop in use, which is the stop on Glossop Road, just near the top entrance on to Melandra Castle Road.

In addition the car park at the back of the shops is also closed, as it is used as the ‘grandstand’ for the event.

If the event is finished earlier it may be possible to open the road earlier.
