ICYMI : Gamesley Community Bonfire & Fireworks 2015 – Thanks ;
Over 1200 locals from across Glossopdale, were up on Gamesley last Thursday night for the Annual Gamesley Community Bonfire & Fireworks Display.
To put on the event, it takes a whole host of people working together, and the organisers would like to place on record there thanks to all those who helped starting with Clint and the lads and lasses of the Toolbox, who along with Simon Basile, Dave Longbone and local councillors who built the bonfire.
Local firm Flair Rugs who provided the wood for the fire, along with David G Davies who hauled the wood up to Gamesley.
On the nights our thanks to helpers, Maureen & Steve Hodson, Frank Wood, Simon Basile, Steven Morgan, Maxine Collinson, Dawn Cresswell, along with Cllr Ed Siddall for providing the music and PA, and the members of G52, and the Café Jericho who along with our stall holders fed and watered everyone on the evening.
Final thanks to local PCSO’s Anne Gribbon and Lee Willows, along with the members of Glossop Fire Station who were distributing fire prevention information during the event, along with thanks to St Johns Ambulance for providing first aid support.
Speaking after the event Cllr Anthony Mckeown said “Our thanks to all the helpers that came together, to put on last Thursdays event. Special thanks as well to Quicksilver who provided a brilliant firework display.”
Donations to the event helped raise £160 that will go towards the Christmas Market, which takes place on Thursday 26th November.
