ICYMI : Meet the neighbours 2015 – Beach Thursday

ICYMI : On Thursday 30th July, this year’s G52 meet the neighbours event took place, and if you were not able to attend, you really did miss ‘beach Thursday’ with half of the square at the shops on Winster Mews been transformed with thankfully good weather to a slightly more tropical than it usual appearance beach.

The event which had been organised by Gamesley’s G52 group, saw a range of activities including donkey rides, steel band playing, face painting, crime prevention and fire safety advice and a whole host more.

The event also featured the weekly ‘bellies not bins’ session where G52 in partnership with the Food-bank and Fareshare amongst others are able to distribute fresh fruit and veg, along with bread and other produce depending on what comes in for a small donation.

Everyone in attendance had a great time, with a great community effort following the close of the event to return the beach back to where it came from.
