Something for the weekend
If you’re looking for things to do this weekend, here are a few ideas :
First up and taking place on both Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 4pm on both days, is this year’s Hadfield Art Show.
Featuring a range of art work of all different sorts from many local artists, the show offers a great display for all that are able to see it.
This year, there is a range of prizes including :
- The Judges’ Choice
The People’s Favourite
A Photography Prize
Digital Art Award
A Prize for 3D work
An Artist Under 21.
It all take place in the upstairs room of Hadfield Hall, along with refreshments been available in their tea room.
Next up and making a welcome return to the local scene is the Tour of Tameside, which you might think would have nothing to do with us, but the second stage taking place tomorrow (Saturday) morning is the ‘High Peak Half Marathon’
The half marathon will be going up the Longendale Trail, it starts at 10am in Roughfields, goes down Bankbottom, and then up Station Road to the trail, the run will be dedicated to P.C Nicola Hughes who sadly lost her life in an incident in Tameside.
Last up (for now) and taking place in Glossop’s Norfolk Square between 2pm and 5pm is the second birthday of local charity ‘Mummys Star‘.
The event will feature a whole host of entertainment along with a balloon launch.
