Although I originally advised in January from the details on the DCC website, that the 394 was changing at the beginning of March - the changes are now coming to the 394 from end of month, on the 30th March.
As advised previously most journeys except on Saturday’s and early mornings / evenings will instead of running into Stepping Hill Hospital - run straight up the A6 to Stockport Bus Station and won’t call around the hospital.
As opposed to the timetable details advised in January - from the timetable information on the DCC website (click here for details) there’s no change to times (on the whole) from Glossop, however there are now minor changes to times at Gamesley and Stepping Hill (on the A6 rather than the hospital).
Additionally the afternoon missing journey on school days is now missing in both directions with the 14.38 from Glossop and the 14.21 from Stockport not running on schools days as opposed to current arrangements where just the Stepping Hill one doesn’t run.
As I previously commented the direct connection could be a good thing – but the revised timetable now means for a large chunk of the year a journey is now missing either ways in the middle of the afternoon, and my earlier comments about traffic on the A6 still apply as well.
As before on Saturday’s it switches back to its current route (as a subsidized service) running to and from Stepping Hill Hospital.
