Meet the neighbours 2014
Last Thursday (20th August) afternoon, the annual meet the neighbours event organised by local group G52 took place.
This year the event was themed to commemorate the start of World War One, with a range of information displays on various aspects of life at the time including amongst others how Girl Guides helped during the war years.
As well as a range of stalls and activities including how to make skipping ropes, and grow your own poppies, there was local Rachel Felstead playing songs from the period which in the early afternoon included a sing along of songs from the period a few clips of which you can view on youtube by clicking here.
In exchange for leaving a message of hope, attendee’s were offered a bowl of corned beef ash. along with afternoon tea and a final highlight of a dove release. Many thanks to G52 and all involved in putting the event together, you can view more picture from the event at : https://flic.kr/s/aHsk1AQVXG
