Christmas and New Year recycling and bin collections

With Christmas and New Year’s Day falling on a Tuesday – it will effect the day when our (Gamesley) bin and recycling collections will take place.

The details are as below and will mean that the green bin and box along with the brown bin will be collected earlier than normal on Saturday 22nd December, with a black bin collection later than normal on Saturday 5th January.

Christmas Collection Dates

Tuesday 25 December – bins will be collected Saturday 22 December.
Wednesday 26 December – bins will be collected Saturday 29 December.
Tuesday 1 January – bins will be completed Saturday 5 January.
Christmas tree collections

Trees can be presented at the side of green bins  from the Monday 31December 2012 until Friday 1 February 2013. Trees must  be no longer than 5 feet with all decorations and the base removed.

Tip opening times

The Household Waste Recycling Centres are open daily from 8.30am until 6pm with the exception of  the 25 December, 26 December and the 1 January when they will be closed.

Bulky waste collections

Bookings made before 3.30pm on Friday 7 December 2012 will be actioned before Christmas on your next scheduled black collection.

Any bookings taken after Friday 7 December 3.30pm will be collected in the New Year on your next scheduled black collection. The last bulky collection of  2012 will be Friday 21 December and the service will recommence on  Monday 7 January 2013.

Clinical

Any clinical waste scheduled for collection during week commencing 24 December will be collected on Thursday the 27 or Friday the 28 December.
