Business Support Grants – update 7/4/20
Today’s business rates support grant update.
By the close of play today a total of 590 grants have been paid out, totalling £7,250,000.
It is difficult to separate the daily totals as we have received notification of a small number of returned payments (where bank details are not correct for example) – in these instances, we are contacting the businesses to obtain correct details.
There has also been a small number of rejected claims, as these businesses are ineligible to claim.
1,460 webforms have been completed by close of play today.
Telephone contact has now been attempted with approx. 75% of the businesses so far – we are now focussing on other forms of contact where telephone contact has proved to be difficult.
We are also working out arrangements to continue this work over the bank holiday period.
