Gamesley Community Fireworks 2019

Gamesley Community Fireworks 2019; This Thursday (7th November) evening from 5.00 pm onwards, sees this year’s Gamesley Community Fireworks display.

Alas, there’s no community bonfire bit due to the high cost of insurance for the bonfire.

As in previous years, the event is taking place at the back of the shops on Winster Mews, with the car park making a great grandstand to watch the action from.

From 5.00 pm until the fireworks at 7 pm there will be various stalls and rides.

Also because of the event, there will be a road closure in effect from about 5.30 pm until just after the fireworks at 7.00 pm for the stretch of Melandra Castle Road that passes the back of the shops.

This means that the last journeys on the 341 will not run around the ring road, only calling at the nearest stop in use, which is the stop on Glossop Road, just near the top entrance on to Melandra Castle Road (the last 394 will be marshalled through).

Also, the car park at the back of the shops will also be closed, as it is used as the ‘grandstand’ for the event.

If the event is finished earlier, it may be possible to open the road/car park earlier.
