Call Derbyshire will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

Bins
This year Christmas day and next year New Years Day, falls on our normal collection day meaning that our bin collections will be changed.
Gamesley – Cottage Lane Normal collection day Tuesday
The black bin collection that is due to take place on Christmas Day – 25/12/18 will instead take place on Christmas Eve – 24/12/18
The brown bin and red bag collection that is due to take place on New Years Day – 1/1/19 will instead take place on Thursday 3rd January – 3/1/19
Green bin collections – the last green bin collection of the year will take place on Tuesday 18th December, with the next one being on Tuesday 15th January 2019.
Glossop Road – Normal Collection Wednesday
The black bin collection that is due to take place on Boxing Day – 26/12/18 will instead take place on Thursday – 27/12/18
The brown bin and red bag collection will take place as normal on 2/1/19
Green bin collections – the last green bin collection of the year will take place on Wednesday 19th December, with the next one being on Wednesday 16th January 2019.
Derbyshire County Council – Recycling centres (‘Melandra tip’)
Household waste recycling centres are open between 8.30am and 6pm every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Glossop Pool is closed for maintenance from Saturday 15th December and will reopen on Saturday 29th December.

Local Chemists
As unfortunately appears the norm. As per previous years I can’t find any details of any Glossopdale Chemists open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day. The nearest chemist open on Christmas Day is the Primary Care Centre in Ashton Under Lyne (10am till 8pm) or Rizwan Chemists in Denton (11am till 1pm), with some more open across Tameside on Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Church Services
If you’re looking for Roman Catholic midnight mass your nearest choice is 11.30pm for carols followed by midnight mass at the Immaculate Conception on Long Lane in New York, Charlesworth, and for Church of England its 11.30pm for midnight communion at St Johns in Charlesworth.
For services on Christmas Day, your nearest Roman Catholic is the Immaculate Conception again at 9.30am, and for Church of England its 10.00am at St Johns in Charlesworth.
