SFTW – Glossop Carnival 2017
SFTW – Glossop Carnival 2017 : Well tomorrow sees the start of July, and in theory the start of warm weather for summer, It’s also that time of year again, for the local start of the carnival season so there’s only one suggestion for something for the weekend and that’s the Glossop Carnival weekend taking place in Glossop’s Manor Park.
Hopefully the sun will be shining and there will be many in attendance to enjoy the fun packed weekend that has been put together by the Glossop Arts and Leisure Association.
Kicking off with a grand opening by the Mayor of the High Peak, Cllr Matt Stone just after 12 noon on Saturday.
From the details in the Glossop Chronicle there will be fairground rides, a hog roast, music and dance and a range of other activities.
It starts at noon on both Saturday and Sunday in Manor Park.
Howard Town Brewery will be providing the beer tent on both days along with plenty of refreshments, craft and charity stalls.
As well as the above Glossop Mountain Rescue Team has also come up with some eye-catching events, while there is lots of local entertainment with Arnfield Brass, Glossopdale Band, Glossop Ukelele Band and Centre Stage Dance School also making an appearance.
Please get along if you can – I hope to update this post with timings for events as and when available.
