August 2022 Bank Holiday Information
August 2022 Bank Holiday Information: Monday (29th August) is the last of this year’s summer bank holidays.
Buses
This means that across Glossopdale, local buses are a little different, with only 237 and 61 running.
For us locally (on Gamesley), there are no buses on Monday; the nearest you will be able to get a bus will be at Dinting Arches or Carpenters.
For elsewhere across Glossopdale, the 237 (Glossop to Ashton) is running to Sunday times (hourly service), with the 61 (Glossop to Buxton) also running to Sunday times (every 2 hours).
You can view the timetable and other information by clicking here for local bus service information.
Don’t forget that a day ticket can offer you a cheaper option if you’re out for the day. There is a whole range available from the bus operators’ own tickets to the SystemOne / Getmethere tickets, which can also cover trains and trams – click here for details.
Trains
Trains from Glossop are flagged as running normally except for engineering works from 11pm, which are in place all week (until 2nd September).

Health
For pharmacy services, we appear to be in limbo at the moment, we no longer appear on the former Tameside and Glossop list, and we don’t appear on the Derbyshire list.
However, the pharmacy in Glossop Tesco is open from 9am until 1pm on Monday.
Walk in Centre
As an alternative to going off to Tameside, Joined up Derbyshire is now advertising the Walk-in Centre at New Mills as available to Glossopdale residents.
The Walk-In Centre is open from 6pm until 10.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 10.30pm on weekends and Bank Holidays.
It’s available to everyone – appointments can be booked through the 111.nhs.uk or 111 telephone service, or you can attend as a walk-in patient.

If you are affected by these arrangements or need additional information, please get in touch.
