NB. Please note the DCC Website is advising that Stotts will be running normal service inbetween and on New Year’s eve, however traditionally they have run Saturday service (the main difference been the early morning Gamesley – Glossop journeys don’t run)

For Derbyshire County Council issues, such as gritting and snow clearing,
Call Derbyshire will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Sunday 27 December, Bank Holiday Monday 28 December and New Year’s Day.
We will be open as normal on our 01629 533190 number for the rest of the festive period including taking social care and emergency property services calls outside of our opening hours.

Derbyshire County Council – Recycling centres (‘Melandra tip’)
Household waste recycling centres are open between 8.30am and 6pm every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Don’t forget you can recycle your large and small electricals at our centres as well as all your cardboard and other Christmas rubbish.

Local Chemists
Alas as per last year I can’t find any details of any Glossopdale Chemists open for Christmas Day or New Years Day. The nearest are in either Lloyds Pharmacy in Hyde or the Primary Care Centre in Ashton Under Lyne. You can view details on the Tameside and Glossop CCG website (to view click here)
Church Services
If you’re looking for Roman Catholic mid night mass your nearest choice is 11.30 for carols followed by midnight mass at the Immaculate Conception on Long Lane in New York, Charlesworth, and for Church of England its 11.30pm for midnight communion at St Johns in Charlesworth.
For services on Christmas Day, your nearest Roman Catholic is the Immaculate Conception again at 9.30am, and for Church of England its 10.00am at St Johns in Charlesworth
