394 (Glossop to Stepping Hill) – More bad news on the way – update
In addition to the changes to the 394 that took place with effect from yesterday, as previously advised High Peak / Centrebus, are also making further changes to the service with effect from Monday 16th November.
These changes will see the first two journeys from Glossop to Stepping Hill (on Monday to Fridays) cancelled (06.40 and 08.00), and replaced by one journey running almost 2 hours later than the current first journey at 08.38.
This means that the earliest you will be able to get to Marple will now be 09.10 as opposed to the 0710 and 0835 as from yesterday.
At current, the only response received from High Peak / Centrebus, to anyone contacting is as below :
“Unfortunately passenger loadings on the earlier journeys were relatively low, which is why the service will start later on in the morning from the 16th November.
I am sorry if does not meet your personal needs, but at this point we will not be looking to reinstate the morning journeys on commercial basis without any funding for them.

This is despite, concerns been raised by a number of passengers including Marple Six Form College whose students will be effected by the bus no longer arriving in Marple before 09.00.
The response from High Peak / Centrebus is disappointing, especially as the change in times that took place yesterday may well have a positive effect on the number of passengers, and I would urge any passengers affected by the change to get in touch, and hopefully by hearing the effect on their passengers to this change it may be possible to get them to reconsider or at least look at other options than removing both journeys.
