Glossopdale February 2013 Bus Service Changes
As folks may already be aware, further changes are been made to local bus services by High Peak Buses, with some slight knock on effecting services by Stotts as well.
The changes will take places with effect from Monday 11th February and will mean the following for each service :
High Peak Buses 201 / 202 Glossop – Simmondley – Gamesley service
All journeys on these two services run by High Peak Buses will be withdrawn.
Stotts 341 Glossop – Gamesley – Charlesworth – Broadbottom – Hattersley – Hyde
Journeys on this service starting with the 09.05 from Hyde (09.44 from Gamesley) and the 10.05 from Glossop will be rerouted to serve Simmondley as they currently do on Saturday’s, with the last trips to go round Simmondley been the 17.05 from Hyde (17.44 from Gamesley) and the 17.05 from Glossop.

High Peak Buses 394 – Glossop – Gamesley – Charlesworth – Chisworth – Marple – High Lane – Hazel Grove – Stepping Hill
On Monday to Fridays from Glossop to Stepping Hill there is little change from the existing timetable except for the 08.00 journey from Glossop will no longer start at Padfield and the 3 o’clock journey will leave and run 3
minutes later than the other journeys at 15.41 and run 3 minutes later throughout the rest of the journey (this is due to it now starting at Chapel en le Frith High School at 15.15).
On Monday to Fridays from Stepping Hill to Glossop there are a few more changes.
An extra journey will now start at 07.34 from Gamesley running just to Glossop and then continuing from Glossop as service 69A to Chapel en le Frith High School.
A further extra journey will run from Marple to Glossop starting from Marple at 08.59 and calling at Gamesley at 09.22
In the afternoon on schooldays there is a change to the 2 o’clock journey from Stepping Hill which will now leave Stepping Hill at 14.33 and only run as far as Marple – in school holiday’s it will leave at the normal hourly time (38 minutes past) and run all the way through to Glossop as normal.
On Saturday’s High Peak Buses were planning to withdrawn the service altogether which would have meant no direct route to Stepping Hill along with no service for folks in Charlesworth (past the George and Dragon) and Chisworth on a Saturday however Derbyshire County Council and Transport for Greater Manchester have stepped in and at a cost of roughly £350 a Saturday, the service will be continued for the next year.
The only changes to the Saturday timetable are that the first bus towards Glossop will now leave High Lane at 08.00 instead of 08.03, passing Gamesley at 08.32 (instead of 08.36) along with the last journey from Stepping Hill now been 17.38 instead of 16.38.

These changes effectively return things to how they were before the extra 202 up to Chisworth was added with just the Hyde and Stepping Hill buses remaining. One note of caution for folk that travel to Simmondley is that these changes see some of the existing earlier morning journeys to / from Glossop – Gamesley removed with no replacements as far as I can see.
