394 – September Changes – Response from High Peak Buses

On Friday, I posted details about changes coming to the 394 (Glossop to Stepping Hill) bus service in September.

I advised I’d request details from High Peak Buses / Centrebus as to why these changes were happening and here’s what their Commercial Director has advised :

“We took the service on at the beginning of the year on an experimental basis when the previous operator ceased trading.

In the light of increasing costs, reduced fuel tax rebate, and a better understanding of actual patronage, we have decided to withdraw some less well used journeys.

I trust this explains the background to the change.”

I’ve gone back to query this and will advise any details as and when available.
