Bus Services 18/1/2012

Rumours started circulating yesterday evening, that Speedwell Buses had stopped running. These rumours were clarified and confirmed this morning with the news that from 6.00pm this evening, they would cease to run any services.

Various effort’s are underway to get replacement services in place, details will be advised as and when available.

In addition for folk who are not on the ‘web’, we are collecting mobile numbers to send text updates – and if you want adding to list – please email your name and mobile number to anthony.mckeown@highpeak.gov.uk and let me know when you see me.

In terms of what this means for local services, please note the following :

This evening : No services after 6.00pm

Nearest alternative will be the 236 / 237 which’s run along the A57 with the nearest stops been Dinting Arches / (for older residents) The Plough or Shaw Lane.

Thursday : 202 / 341 – Glossop, Gamesley, Charlesworth, Broadbottom, Hyde – No Service at current.

394 – Normal Service – Run by Bowers / Centrebus
