Alternative Tickets
Whilst details of the individual bus fares on the various different companies that will be running Gamesley to Glossop, Marple, Hyde or where ever are still to be determined, the fact that they are different bus companies means you may need a different type of tickets to use them all.
One ready made alternative that is valid on the all three different company that will run our local services now, is the System One range of tickets, which also have the added advantage of been valid across Greater Manchester, and depending on which version you buy on trams and trains as well.
In terms of the basics, you can get an any bus day ticket for £5.40 if bought before 9.30, and £4.80 if bought after, with an adult and one child ticket costing £6.80 and a group ticket for 2 adults & up to 3 children costing £10.
There’s also various bus and train or tram combinations details of which are available here : http://www.systemonetravelcards.co.uk/travelcards/one-day
For weekly or monthly ticket’s you need to register / have a system one pass, which you can do either on line at www.systemonetravelcards.co.uk or by visiting a TfGM Travelshop (nearest are either Ashton or Hyde Bus Station)
Once registered you can then buy weekly and monthly tickets either online at the same place you registered, or by visiting a TfGM Travelshop or even more locally from either Morgan’s or Londis – or any other paypoint retailer
Weekly tickets for the bus cost £19, and monthly tickets cost £68 and although a lot more expensive than your previous weekly ticket from Speedwell, they are valid across the whole of Greater Manchester and on any bus, and again as with the day versions there are bus and train / tram varieties available.
Please note all prices are as detailed on the system one website today (19/1/2012).
