Melandra Tip – Weighty problem to be solved
After many month’s of negotiation the two different sets of surveyors from United Utilities and Derbyshire County Council have final come to a joint agreement on the weight limit for the bridge over to the Melandra site.
The agreed weight limit, due to the condition of the bridge is even lower that the early figures, and has being fixed from Wednesday at an emergency weight limit of 3 tonnes.
A letter drop to local residents effected by this announcement has being organised by the County Council, however there is no news yet on when or how this problem will be solved just details that a future meeting will take place in early September to discuss next steps in resolving this issue.
Disappointingly this means however that since the issue first arose in January this year, there is still no sign yet of when the ‘tip’ will reopen.
