Safer Neighbourhood Team
Last Thursday afternoon saw the latest meeting of the Gamesley and
Charlesworth Safer Neighbourhood Team.
A quite well attended meeting with a number of the ever increasing
neighbourhood watch co-ordinators in attendance.
As well as a review of some past issues, the meeting was also updated on the
performance following Halloween and Bonfire Nights, when as opposed to
previous years there were only 2 calls for services on Bonfire Night and no
calls at all on Halloween.
The meeting also considered some forthcoming issues with parking outside
Charlesworth School on Long Lane been looked at, consideration been given to
plans for tackling dog fouling and nuisance dogs along with current plans
for tackling some of the current issues of nuisance including problems at
Whitwell, Hollins and St Margarets School.
Consideration was also given to plans from Groundwork's Gamesley for the
Gamesley Signage Project at Cottage Lane, with reports of the consultation
so far been positive, but with concerns been raised by locals at the meeting
over whether consultation with residents near the proposed site at Cottage
Lane having been detailed enough as to whether there is enough local
resident support for the scheme.
