PCR tests – tests that are sent to a laboratory for analysis – will be available at:
- Geoffrey Allen Centre (car park), Winster Mews, Gamesley, SK13 0LU: 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Wednesday. No appointment necessary
- Redgra area, Fauvel Road, Glossop, SK13 7DW: 9 am to 5 pm from Thursday until Sunday 27th June.
This means that there will be no / limited access to the Winter Mews Car Park from Monday to Wednesday.
You can book a test online
From the DCC website:
The PCR test is the most reliable test for COVID-19 and is done by taking a swab of the throat and nose. Children under 11 should be helped by an adult. Results are usually returned within one to 2 days and help to keep track of cases, including new variants of COVID-19.
Residents are being encouraged to continue to get tested twice a week, whether they have symptoms or not, as one in 3 people can carry the virus without showing any symptoms and could be passing it on without knowing.
You can pick up free testing kits from some Derbyshire pharmacies or order them online to be delivered to your home. Find out how to get hold of free home testing kits.
