Gamesley Gas Main Replacements
Starting from 6th April and potentially continuing until the end of the year, Cadent, the company that maintains the gas network in the area, is starting a gas main renewals program across parts of Gamesley.
The works are mainly scheduled for the ‘electric’ side of Gamesley.
Cadent advises that the planned replacement method will see the new pipes inserted into the old gas mains wherever possible. This will reduce the need for large excavations.
However, some work will require trenches to be dug due to the gas mains’ size, which will need to be installed.
Ageing gas service pipes supplying individual properties will also need to be replaced or existing PE supplies transferred to the new pipe.
Where they have to carry out this work, engineers will need to switch off the gas supply to affected properties for approximately 12 hours. Cadent will be communicating with affected properties involved nearer the time.

Cadent advise that, for properties where they have to disconnect the gas supply, they should be advised between 15 to 10 days before the works with further visits before and following the works.
The list of streets that are advised to be directly impacted by the works and gas supply interruption are:

The details on the roadworks system advise work are due to occur first, starting from the 6th April on Eyam Fold, Haddon Mews, Haddon Green, Hollins Way, Hollins Avenue and Elton Lea.
Besides this work, Cadent is also carrying out work on Riber Bank between the 6th and 19th of April.
