Business Grants Update 21/4/20
This evenings business rates support grant update.
🟥 By the close of business today a total of 1589 grants have paid out (38 up from Monday)
🟨 A total of £17,430,000 (up £380,000 up from Monday) has been paid out to date.
🟩 1,920 webforms have been submitted out of a total of approximately 2,400 eligible businesses
We’ve now paid out 64% of the total grants, but we still haven’t had applications from some of the businesses that we consider are eligible for the grant.
This is despite the publicity and our attempts to make contact by letter, telephone and email.
The Secretary of State for Business published details of every local authority’s progress today, in terms of the proportion of grants that we have paid out (64%) this is above the average of all authorities (51%) and is the second-best of all the Derbyshire authorities
The plan now is to refocus onto getting the remaining grants paid, which involves two complex issues:
1. Dealing with the applications that have queries or problems
and
2. Trying to establish contact with businesses that haven’t applied
If you are aware of a business that may be eligible and they haven’t yet supplied any details, please urge them to complete the webform at http://antmck.uk/tf.
Finally, if you are a business that for whatever reason doesn’t want the grant, please can you let us know so we can cross you off the list.
