URGENT : Road Closure on Saturday 7th April – Glossop Road
Derbyshire County Council has advised that Glossop Road will be closed from its junction with the A57 at the former Plough Inn, to its junctions with Cottage Lane on Saturday 7th April from 9.00pm until 5.00am on Sunday 8th April.
The closure is to allow Jackson Tree Services to carry out emergency works to a large tree that is dangerously leaning in the road.
The alternative route from Glossop is via Dinting Vale, Simmondley Lane, Simmondley Village, High Lane, Town Lane, and Glossop Road.
If travelling from Mottram or elsewhere the alternative is either as above or via Broadbottom, Long Lane and Glossop Road.
DCC advises that the road will re-open as soon as the work is finished and that this may be earlier than advertised.
