System One Smart Tickets
If you are a current user of the System One range of tickets, from Saturday 22nd April 2016, the adult 7 and 28 day tickets will only be available for purchase via a get me there or other compatible smart card.
Paper tickets for these particular travelcards will no longer be available after this date, but don’t worry, the tickets and how you use them, remain more or less exactly the same, meaning that you can still use them on any bus (locally both Stagecoach and High Peak Buses are System One members), anywhere across the Greater Manchester area, including Glossopdale and New Mills / Hayfield, the only difference instead of buying your paper ticket and displaying it with your system one travel card, you will now need a smart card.
The benefits of changing to the smart card, is a potential saving of up to £80 a year, no longer needing a separate membership card, and possibly the most useful, you will be able to buy a 7 day any bus travelcard on the bus.
The biggest benefit of the 7 and 28 day System One Bus Savers moving to get me there is that you will pay £1.50 less for the 7-day Adult Any Bus* ticket and £5.00 less for the 28-day Adult Any Bus* ticket (compared to the current System One Bus Savers):
• 7 day Adult Any Bus – £17.00
• 28 day Adult Any Bus – £60.00
If you currently don’t have a get me there card or equivalent, it’s easy to get one, either by ordering your (free) get me there card online , by visiting any TfGM Travelshop (nearest one Ashton Under Lyne or Hyde), or by calling 03000 035 035 (please note, if ordering off the website or by phone, cards can take up to 7 working days to arrive).
Once you have your get me there or other compatible smart card, you can load your 7 or 28 day Adult Any Bus* travelcard straight away on the bus (7 day Adult Any Bus* only), any PayPoint shop or TfGM Travelshop.
Once uploaded, you can simply touch your smart card onto the reader when you board the bus, sit back and hopefully enjoy your journey.
For now, this change only applies to Adult 7-day and 28-day System One travelcards. You can still buy and use other System One travelcards from the range including the, Group DaySavers, Any Bus, Train and Tram DaySavers, County Card and BusCard Extra travelcards.
Additionally, Adult 1 day Any Bus travelcards are also available to buy on the bus via get me there.
