Connections to Manchester

Possible concerning or it may be welcome news from the Manchester Buses Blog
(manchesterbus.typepad.com) with the details that Speedwell Buses, the
company that runs the majority of local bus services in Glossop is
establishing a new service running between Manchester and Hey Farm near
Mossley.

The service which will run via Droylsden, Audenshaw, Ashton Under Lyne,
Mossley Brockbottom and Micklehurst at a frequency of every 20 minutes
starts on the 3rd August.

The reason that I say slightly concerning is the possibility (in my mind at
least) of a knock on effect to other local services from the impact of
running such a high frequency (as opposed to the routes in Glossopdale)
service. It may however be welcome news to people who purchase their weekly
ticket who will then have access (albeit by a slightly lengthy route) by bus
to Manchester.
