Starting on Friday (18th July) night with the 60's fashion show (tickets and
further details from Pat on 01457 858035), are a number of events to
celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Gamesley Estate.
This is followed by full day of events on the Saturday starting with a
health walk at 9.30 from the Geoffrey Allen Centre, followed by a health
fair between 10.00am and 1.00pm again in the Geoffrey Allen Centre, with a
grand parade around the estate taking place starting off from Winster Mews
The celebrations are then official opened by Andy Crane at 1.15pm with a
range of activities and stalls including a boxing demonstration and bungee
jump taking place in the square at Winster Mews and an art exhibition in the
Post Office until 4.00pm.
The celebrations then continue from 7.00pm with entertainment in both the
Centurion and Melandra Castle Pub's, and Big Chas and the Business appearing
now (I think) at the Geoffrey Allen Centre.
Further details on all the events are available from the GRA Office on
I'm sure a fund weekend will be had by all, many thanks to all the different
groups and locals that have got involved to put on the range of events to
celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the estate.
