Remembrance Sunday 2017
Remembrance Sunday 2017 : Sunday 12th November will see this year’s Remembrance Sunday.
For local’s planning to attend Glossop’s service / parade, they are asked to assemble in front of the Municipal Buildings (on the car park) from 10.30am to join the parade to the Cenotaph at 10.50am.
The parade will make its way to the Cenotaph for the Remembrance Service which will be conducted by Father Greg Tobin and Rev Norman Shaw. The service will be attended by the Deputy Lieutenant, Mr David Holtom and the Past Mayor of the High Peak, Councillor George Wharmby.
Following the service, the procession will re-form and proceed to the Market Ground for dismissal. Refreshments will be available at Bradbury Community House.
Deputy Mayor John Walton, will join locals in Hadfield. A service will commence in St Andrews Church at 10.00am and will be conducted by Rev Felicity Walters. Those attending the service will walk to the Cenotaph at 10.50am for the Remembrance Service which will be conducted by the Rev’d Felicity Walters and Rev’d Michael Grimsley. Following the service will be served in the community room of Hadfield Hall.
