Bus Fare Increase
High Peak Buses are offering you a bad return from Monday’s bank holiday, with a range of fare increases to local services.
Whilst I suspect you will not have seen any details of the increases on the bus, when the picture below was posted on Facebook, I asked for details of the raises and was advised the following :
“Hi Anthony, due to increased costs associated with providing bus services (fuel increases, wage increases amongst other costs) we’ve had to make the difficult decision to increase some fares. This is the first fare increase for our skyline199 and transpeak services since May 2014 and will allow us to continue to invest in newer vehicles and improve journeys. For details of specific fares please email help@centrebus.com and our Customer Services Team will look into the matter.”
I’ve emailed the company for information on the fares but at current I’m still awaiting details, but would expect that the increase tried for local journeys from Glossop, when the fare were last changed in November will once again be put in place meaning that the cost for all trips from Gamesley to Glossop will now be £2.30 as opposed to the current £2.00 – more details as soon as available, but please get in touch if this change will affect you (or if you have more details on the change).
