Have your say on local bus services
Gamesley Councillor Anthony Mckeown is urging local residents to respond to the Derbyshire County Council consultation on local bus services.
The County Council is currently seeking views on how and why locals use buses, to help shape the future of council-funded bus services, which as a result of having to make cuts of £157m by 2018 due to government cuts in funding may change.
To help local’s respond to the consultation, Anthony’s next surgery on Saturday 6th December is themed around helping local residents respond to the consultation. The surgery runs from 9.00am until 10.00am in the Gamesley Residents Association Office on Winter Mews on Gamesley.
Although Saturday’s surgery has a bit of a focus around responding to the bus service consultation Anthony will be happy to try and answer any questions, comments and concerns that locals have.
Cllr Anthony Mckeown said ”As a non-driver and bus user myself I understand the importance of local buses and it is vital that local residents complete the consultation and let the county council know how they would be effected if these services are changed.”
Details for the local bus service consultation are available on the county council website at http://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/supportedbuses, Anthony’s website at http://antmck.uk/10 and local libraries.
