The week ahead – 12th November to 18th November
This week will see on Thursday, the election for the first time of the new Police and Crime Commissioners – if you have a postal vote you may have voted already, but if you haven’t please take the time on Thursday to go and vote, and if you’re a Derbyshire local I’d recommend Alan Charles – You can view more details on Alan by clicking here
Monday sees a pre executive briefing, followed in the afternoon by a visit to the Waterswallows site in Buxton for a visit to with councillors from DCC, Chesterfield, Bolsolver and North East Derbyshire Council’s to see how the Household Waste Recycling Centre and ‘Composting’ site runs and operates prior to a new facility that’s due to open in that neck of the wood’s early next year.
Tuesday sees meetings in Glossop and then Buxton prior to a stint in the evening on the bar of the Labour Club in Glossop – which if you’ve not visited is worth a visit and run by volunteers.
Wednesday has meetings in Buxton followed by a joint governors meeting at St Margaret’s in the evening, with Thursday seeing the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections, with the Derbyshire Sport Awards in the evening.
Friday sees an NHS pledge event in Manchester, followed in the evening by a public meeting in New Mills on the proposals from the East Midlands Ambulance Service to close Ambulance Stations in New Mills and Buxton (and whilst this change may not have a lot of effect on Glossopdale other changes will – click here for more details)
