Venues for council meetings
One of the issues up for consideration at next week’s corporate select committee is a report that in a sense follows on from the decision taken at the start of the summer to close the Chinley offices, and as such lose the current venue for most council meetings.
The report looks at where meetings should be held in the future and suggests a range of alternative venues across the High Peak including within Glossopdale, the Town Hall, Bradbury Community House and Municipal Buildings in Glossop.
The reports suggests a questionnaire that will go to all members of the council asking for their preferences for the various types of meetings and venues suggested, and I would like to hear your views on what you think, particularly on issues around what venues the council should use and whether you think the idea of some of the meetings taking place at different venues across the borough are a good idea.
