This consultation has now closed and this page is just kept for information

If you were a respondee to the consultation on the submission version of the High Peak Local Plan, you will have recently been invited to take part in a further consultation with regards to two aspects of the local plan, one is in relation to a housing site allocation on Woodhead Road, the other is for the housing numbers for the whole of the local plan.

Please note as stated in the consultation document “As this consultation forms part of the ongoing examination process, it is only open to parties who submitted representations to the High Peak Local Plan (Submission Version) in 2014. Comments from other parties cannot be accepted at this stage.”

However if you do have any views please get in touch and let me know.

Dear Participant

At the close of the Examination sessions about the High Peak Local Plan in February 2015, the Inspector asked the Council consider what implications the 2012 household projections might have for its assessment of objectively assessed housing needs and whether in its view any main modifications would be required as a result. He also requested that views of participants were sought on the Council’s conclusions, on the Satnam Millennium ltd and Warrington Borough Council High Court judgement for assessing housing requirements and the findings of the Woodhead Road Heritage and Landscape Appraisal.

This consultation will therefore cover the above issues and is only open to parties who submitted representations to the High Peak Local Plan (Submission Version) in 2014. Details in the document are for consultation purposes only and a decision on them is yet to be made. At the completion of the consultation all responses will be submitted to the Inspector to consider alongside those previously discussed at the previous examination hearings.

The consultation documents can be viewed at the Town Hall, Market Place, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 6EL, and Municipal Buildings, Glossop, Derbyshire, SK13 8AF, and online at:

It is long over due but we need a motorway from the M67 eastwards from Manchester towards Barnsley M1, This will cut journey times and aid northern prosperity and the Northern Powerhouse.
