At the current time there are three different companies that run local bus services on Gamesley, two out of the three run the majority of services – Stotts and High Peak charge the same fares with Stagecoach charging differently.
Daytickets / Returns
Stotts currently don’t offer day tickets or returns but you can buy and use the system one range of tickets as listed below.
High Peak Buses offer returns on their services (which are only valid on their services), along with the Peak Plus dayticket which cost’s £6 for Adults, £4 for children and £14 for a Family Ticket (upto 2 adults and 2 children aged 16). It is valid on almost all their services except :
TransPeak between Matlock and Derby.
TransPeak between Hazel Grove and Manchester.
Skyline between Haze Grove and the Airport before 09:00.
If you use High Peak Buses on a regular basis – but not often enough to look at a weekly or monthly ticket – you may be interested in their Travel Club, it costs £10 (plus £1 p&p) to join and offers members 15% off the price of standard single and return fares. Manchester – Dayrider £4.00 – 1 person (no age limit)
Manchester – Dayrider Plus One £6.00 – 1 adult and 1 child*
Manchester – Group Dayrider £8.80 – up to 2 adults and up to 3 children*
* Children must be aged 16 or under and may be asked to provide ID.
Weekly Tickets
Stotts don’t offer a weekly ticket but accept the system one range of tickets as listed below.
High Peak Buses offer both a weekly and monthly ticket that can be bough (in advance) via Payzone or on the bus.
Weekly tickets cost £24 and monthly tickets £80 – prices may however be different on the bus (according to the details on the High Peak Buses website) and they are valid on all High Peak Bus Services except those listed above like the day ticket.
Either ticket is however only valid on High Peak Bus services.
Stagecoach offer both weekly and monthly tickets (but only run the Sunday service on Gamesley) they are priced as follows :
Megarider 7 Day £12.50 – Valid on the Stagecoach Manchester, Stagecoach Wigan and Magic Bus network.
Megarider 28 Day / Megarider Xtra £46 – Valid as above and available online at : http://www.stagecoachbus.com/tickets.aspx
System One Travelcards
The only range of tickets, that is valid on all three different companies that run our local services now, is the System One range of tickets, which also have the added advantage of been valid across Greater Manchester, and depending on which version you buy on trams and trains as well.
In terms of the basics, you can get an any bus day ticket for £5.60 if bought before 9.30, and £5.00 if bought after, with an adult and one child ticket costing £7.10 and a group ticket for 2 adults & up to 3 children costing £10.50

System One have also introduced a weekender ticket which is valid from 6.00pm Friday until midnight Sunday. It cost’s £10 for one person and £15 for two but at the moment can only be bought in advance on the web or from a travel shop – further details here : http://www.systemonetravelcards.co.uk/travelcards/weekender
For weekly or monthly ticket’s you need to register / have a system one pass, which you can do either on line at www.systemonetravelcards.co.uk or by visiting a TfGM Travelshop (nearest are either Ashton or Hyde Bus Station)
Once registered you can then buy weekly and monthly tickets either online at the same place you registered, or by visiting a TfGM Travelshop or even more locally from either Morgan’s or Londis – or any other paypoint retailer
Weekly tickets for the bus cost £19.90, and monthly tickets cost £71.50 in a shop or £69.50 (online) and, they are valid across Greater Manchester and on any bus (they are also valid across all of Glossopdale and Hayfield and New Mills), and again as with the day versions they are bus and train / tram varieties available.
Other Day Tickets
If you’re looking at going further afield for a day out or anything else there is also the Wayfare ticket which is available in two versions, a Derbyshire version and a Greater Manchester one.
The Derbyshire Wayfarer allows virtually unlimited bus and train travel throughout Derbyshire for a whole day. Along with travel between Derbyshire and Sheffield*, Burton-on-Trent*, Macclesfield*, Leek* and Uttoxeter*. * Town/city centre (valid on direct journeys to/from Derbyshire only)
Derbyshire Wayfarer Ticket Prices
£11.10 for an Adult (plus one child under 16)
£5.55 for a senior citizen, a child under 16, or a holder of a Gold Card
£20.00 for a group of up to 2 adults and up to 3 children
