Glossop Local Link – Replacement for the 202 Glossop to Hyde Evenings and Sundays.
Since April 2016, the 202 from Glossop to Hyde no longer runs in the evenings (Monday to Saturday), or all day Sunday / Bank Holidays.
This has happened due to a combination of Transport for Greater Manchester, and Derbyshire County Council (to save the 394) withdrawing the subsidy that covered the evening and Sunday service.
In its place, DCC has arranged with TFGM for its Local Link service to be extended into Glossopdale to cover the route of the 202 as detailed below.

Local Link is a low-cost, flexible, accessible transport service that ‘fills the gaps’ where other public transport options are limited or not available.
The service operates in those areas of Greater Manchester where there is a need. Local Link is available to anyone living or working in these areas – there are no age or disability restrictions.
It is necessary to register before using the service.

If you click on the link above you can then choose your applicable Local Link service, in our case Glossop, which will then bring up details on the specific service.
To use Local Link, you have to register in advance, you can do this by phone (tel 0161 200 6012), or via the website.
Once registered, you then need to book to travel in advance, you can do this via the website or by phone (tel 0161 200 6012).
If you book online – you need to book 24 hours in advance, and if you book via the phone (in theory) a minimum of an hour before your journey – but I would recommend where possible the day before.
This service runs Monday to Saturday, 6pm to 10pm, Sunday and public holidays, 6am to 10pm.
The call centre (tel 0161 200 6012) to book journeys or register is open from 8.00am until 8.00pm.
