Armed Forces Day 2021 Flag Raising
This coming Saturday (26th June) is Armed Forces Day 2021.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
Armed Forces Day commemorations will begin on Monday 21st June when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and famous landmarks across the country, including in Glossop’s Norfolk Square.
Local residents can attend a short ceremony in Glossop’s Norfolk Square, with the Mayor of the High Peak Councillor Paul Hardy, who will raise the flag starting at 11.55 am, repeating a similar ceremony in Buxton earlier in the day.
The flag will remain flying for the rest of the week and is a small way of showing tribute to the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces and their families.
