Local Bus Services – Beware of January Changes

Gamesley Councillor Anthony Mckeown, is advising locals to be aware of forthcoming coming changes to local bus service.

On Monday 14th January, High Peak Buses (www.highpeakbuses.com) are making a number of changes to local bus services, with the biggest change in terms of time coming to the Glossop to Stepping Hill Hospital Service the 394.

There’s a small change to the first journey from Glossop and no change to the second journey during the week, but from 9.00am journeys to Stepping Hill will leave Glossop at 38 minutes past the hour instead of the current 20 past, and from Stepping Hill again at 38 minutes past the hour instead of the current 20 past. The time change also runs on Saturday’s as well.

There’s also a change coming to High Peak Buses 202 journeys which will no longer run to Chisworth or Charlesworth and will instead turn round at Gamesley, along with a new 201 service which will run from Glossop to Gamesley and back once an hour, with these journeys now better timed between other buses.

Cllr Anthony Mckeown said “Although these changes, particularly the new journeys may sound welcome, unfortunately there are further changes coming in February which will not be as welcome.”

Copies of the new timetable will be available at the GRA and various other places, with details also available on Cllr Mckeown’s website at www.anthonymckeown.info
